What is microdermabrasion?

Dermaglide® microdermabrasion is a non-invasive, organic method to safely and effectively exfoliate and rejuvenate the skin. This procedure has no downtime and is virtually painless.

How does it work?

Dermaglide® microdermabrasion treatment uses a specially formulated pure, natural sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) crystals to gently remove the outer layers of dead skin cells. The fine crystals are propelled at high speed across the skin’s surface to exfoliate the skin, while a vacuum simultaneously removes the debris.

How will it improve my skin?

Dermaglide® microdermabrasion can improve fine lines and wrinkles, reduce sun damage, improve acne (anti-bacterial), pore size and congestion, enhance collagen and elastin production and increase penetration of anti-aging laser & light-based therapies and topical skincare treatments.

Who is a good candidate?

Anyone who wants to improve the texture, vitality and vibrancy of their skin is a good candidate for this procedure. Since baking soda is soothing to the skin, it is good for all skin types, including sensitive skin. This procedure can also be performed on tan and darker skin colors.

Are there any contraindications?

Yes, please refer to Consent Form for full list of contraindications. These are some important ones to consider: suspicious mole, warts, severe acne, herpes simplex (cold sore), rosacea (may exacerbate), eczema, psoriasis, open sores, unstable diabetes or other auto-immune disorders, skin cancer, recent Accutane (or any isotretinoin use)

Can the lips and eye area be treated?

Yes, since baking soda is non-irritating, even the delicate eye area and lips can be treated. Most other microdermabrasion systems use metal-based (aluminum) crystals that prohibit the use around the eyes and mouth areas. Dermaglide® microdermabrasion can safely exfoliate and rejuvenate these areas for smoother more vibrant skin.

How many treatments will I need?

Typically, a series of 6 treatments are recommended every 1-2 weeks. Once the desired result is achieve, a maintenance treatment is recommended every 4-6 weeks.

Are professional skincare products important?

Yes, establishing a skincare regimen that is appropriate for your skin type and concerns is vital to enhancing the benefits of your microdermabrasion treatments. Our skincare specialists will formulate a regimen that is specifically suited for your skin.
