Platelet-Rich Plasma Rejuvenation

Did you know that your own blood can heal and turn back time on aging skin? Your own blood contains powerful rejuvenating proteins, known as Platelet-Rich Plasma or PRP, that stimulate your skin’s natural reparative processes to revive your skin’s beauty. Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is a regenerative technology that deploys aspects of your own biochemistry. The activated growth factors will instinctively know how to repair and strengthen the specific tissues where they reside. And, because all constitutes retrieved in PRP are exclusively from you, there is virtually no risk of an allergic reaction. This simple but revolutionary procedure will provide you with beautiful age-defying results.

At AMA Med Spa, we combine the reparative properties of PRP with the hydrating, rejuvenating properties of hyaluronic acid (HA).

Step 1: Rejuvenate and Hydrate your skin with Hyaluronic Acid (HA)

At the core of all connective tissues in the human body (and especially the skin) is a highly organized water-binding molecule called hyaluronic acid (HA). The unique properties of HA contribute to the overall structure and integrity of the skin. HA also facilitates the maintenance of healthy skin by promoting intercellular communication for efficient elastin and collagen production. The natural synthesis of HA slows with aging and sun exposure (photodamage) leading to not only a decrease in collagen and elastin production but also less retention of water within the skin. This aging process leads to loss of elasticity and the formation of wrinkles as the skin loses its youthful structure. Using micro-needling or mesotherapy technologies, we are able to restore a normal level of HA molecules in the skin. Micro-needling (micro-PRP rejuvenation) involves the use of an automated micro-needling device that gently creates thousands of micro-channels into the skin as lower molecular weight (LMW) HA is absorbed directly into the top layers of the skin. Mesotherapy (meso-PRP rejuvenation) utilizes an automated mesotherapy device (called the Vital Injector) to inject HA directly into the deeper layers of the skin.

Step 2: Repair and Strengthen your skin with Blood-Derived Growth Factors (PRP)

The internal essence of your blood contains abundant growth factor proteins designed to restore and strengthen your skin. With a simple process, we are able to harness a very high concentration of your biological nutrient-rich cells and create autologous platelet-rich plasma. Some of the important growth factors are listed below.

  1. Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF):

stimulates fibroblast production (cells that make collagen, elastin)

  2. Fibroblast Growth Factor (FGF):

promotes skin repair and collagen, elastin production

  3. Platelet-Derived Growth Factor (PGF):

    promotes collagen and proteoglycan synthesis

  4. Interleukins:

promote fibroblast differentiation and collagen and proteoglycan synthesis

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) can be introduced into the skin in 2 different but highly effective ways.

  • Micro-PRP Rejuvenation:

PRP, along with low molecular weight hyaluronic acid (LMW HA) is topically applied during the micro-needling procedure.

  • Meso-PRP Rejuvenation:

PRP, along with low molecular weight hyaluronic acid (LMW HA) is injected directly into the deeper layers of the skin using the automated mesotherapy device called Vital Injector.
